    “Afternoon Delight”

This little fellow was up and about, one early afternoon at Estero Beach, in Fort Myers Florida, looking for a snack, just to keep him until dinner. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens , and a Nikkor 1.4 T/C

    Image solution:
    focal length @ 630mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / ISO @ 400 / 1/1250sec. - f/5.6 / white balance @ cloudy / AF - mode @ dynamic range, auto - continuous / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution - no speedlight, ambient light / exposure comp @ -0.3EV / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +1 degrees / support platform - no tripod, hand held, flat on belly /

    Comments greatly appreciated...

nice one Gus, Beautiful lighting for this one. a very small nit, I'd likely remove the light spot reflecting from the mud in background which is seemingly connected to the birds cloaca ;)

    Good one :)

Gus, Very nice light and catch!! I do see the very small spot mentioned by Graham-but I really had to look for it! Nice low angle

Hm... I might make the catch-light a "dot" instead of a vertical line, the bird also seems a bit cramped in the frame, in my opinion.
The pose, however, is really unusual to capture, and gives the viewer an insight into the bird's life.

Great one Gus. Eye contact, action, bg, and colors.
    Congrats
