Lovely feel to this photograph Fabs! I love the curve of those feathers...you can imagine the wind going through the feathers...the branch is really nice in this composition and i'm glad this isnt a clean background, as this bg is nice, not disturbing and adds to the story. Nice!

I like the curves in the bird and it's plumes. It works well against the BG and I really like how the lightness extends along the branch it is perched on. Focal Point is an interesting plugin. I have just recently used it (along with others in the onOne suite) for some stage photos I am working on at the moment and found them very efficient plugins. Unfortunately haven't yet got as far as working on any bird images - roll on the end of the month when the show is over (not really - it is amazing fun:))

Pose, details and setting are cool. I don't know how this plugin works but the BG looks good to me. The bird looks a bit blueish on my monitor.

    Fabs:

A lovely picture, even a great head angle, which I rarely catch in preening birds.

I agree with all the positives mentioned above.

My only tiny observation would be that I find the eye quite indistinct.

    Overall, a beauty.

Got some great feel to this image Fabs. Dont mind the closed eyes and distracting background. All the elements sits well into a great story.

I like the mood, the comp, exposure and comp, the BG is good and although I am not crazy about it only you could make it look so good :) Congratulations Fabs!
