I used shadows/highlights on the bright areas in the buck's tracks/pathway, and had to crop more than I would have liked. But I had to get the shot when I could. By the time I zoomed in closer, his cool pose was gone.

    What do you think??

    thanks!

The biggest issue I have is with the tree trunk in the top left hand corner of the photo. Like the details of the buck and snow. Exposure looks good, too.

Hi Cheryl - like the exposure and the pose - thought it was over sharpened at first - but think it might just be the effects of the large crop (You can see the effect I am talking about in the trees upper right)
Agree with desmond on the tree in the upper left.

    Keep em coming :)

    Hi Cheryl,
I like the capture and image...the think that pops out is the tree too close to the subject...aside from this, I like it very much...

Agree with suggestions !!! Sure wish you could have taken a step to the left for separation with the tree but way cool as presented !!! btw with this symmetry I wouldn't mind seeing the animal in the middle !!! Love it !!

Wonderful shot. I like it a lot. I agree with others' suggestions and wonder what was cropped off on the left. Maybe it was something that could be cloned out so as to rescue a little more canvas? (With a bit of careful masking, the tree at upper left could be made to disappear. ;) )

Cheryl - I love the textures and sharpness of the snow and the buck; outstanding! I agree about the tree and the bushes farther back, be nice to get rid of them or ....
    Cheers

went back to the files and found this..... is it better? I like the buck larger in the image, but should he have more habitat as in this one??

Between this and your original one, I'd pick this one.

I really like the first one better. The trunk is just a bit too close to the antlers, but just a bit. But the comp in it is fantastic and what sends it over the top for me is the feeling of depth and that wonderful trail in the snow.

Great looking Buck Cheryl. I actually like both images myself. They each tell a different story.
    Congrats
