    Default Saker Falcon

    Hi There

Well it was Saturday so it was off to my usual destination of the Hawk Conservancy to try the MKIII in some sunny weather to see if the focus worked as well as it does in lower light levels. Well I am happy to report that in my opinion its works fine and I would say is better overall than my MKIIN.

I have a shot of a Lanner Falcon that I will post tomorrow against a nice blue sky to illustrate this, but I thought I would post a shot of "Drifter" the Saker Falcon. This was taken at the end of the day as the sun was sinking low to the horizon, so I had to raise the ISO to 2000 to get 1/1600 of a second which is pretty much my minimum speed for fast moving birds such as Falcons.

    Hope you like it

    John

Another wonderful falcon shot. I think I like this pose as much as any......you have direct eye contact and a great deal of coverage on the upper surface. I rather like the gray skies with the bits of blurred trees for a BG. It certainly compliments the falcon. Well done.
