Red-necked Wallaby photographed at Honeysuckle Creek, near Canberra.
Canon 40D, EF70-200 f/4 IS, inbuilt flash, ISO 400, f/6.3, 1/250, slightly cropped.
Historical note: This wallaby was in the grounds of the now dismantled NASA space tracking station that picked up the TV signals of Neil Armstrong stepping on to the moon in 1969 and broadcast them arond the world. The site is now in a national park.
Wow... what a tail! The side view you've captued here really does a great job of showing just how long it is in relationship to the rest of it's body. Nice image.
Looks like a tough job to get good side comps and include the tail but you did well here. Nicely detailed. I like the line of the body leading down to the tail and the color of the BG foilage. One minor nit for me is the dark spot in the BG, about ear level, mid back. Because of the dark paws, nose, ears, and tail tip, my eye keeps going in circles trying to connect the dots.
