    This is how I am coming down on this one. Thanks for the verticle suggestion Axel, It works much better.

    Not bad for an 8 MPX 20D eh? I crop all my full frames with the ruler and rectangle marque 12x18, then go to work. I think thats about 100%, no?

    Your final crop works best Bill - now had the head been turned slightly towards the camera.....! But good effort.

    The last repost improves the image a lot. I would try to tone down the whites more.

    This is much improved Bill and the angle can not be changed . The only thing I see now is the BG. I am not sure why it looks as it does. Again many thanks for sharing Bill . Look forward to future posts !!

    The last post looks the best, although huge crops such as this cause a loss of image quality. Wish the bird had turned his head just a bit more toward you and the whites need to be toned down a bit. Love your quote "the harder I try, the luckier I get".....nothing could be more true for wildlife photography!
