    Daniel:

A very nice first post! I love the story/look of the GBH. Exposure is good.

I would try one more round of sharpening on the birds head/eye. IMO, perhaps crop a bit of the right, I don't think the negative space adds a lot, because of the nature of the action/subject. The bird is angled a bit away from us, but the feather really makes the image.

    Congratulations! Keep them coming.

Welcome to BPN, Daniel! Great first post. I like the captured moment, details and light and might crop a bit off the top and maybe add a bit room at the bottom. I look forward to more of your images.

    Daniel:

I just wanted to add, that its how you use your equipment that counts. Yes, better gear makes it easier, but you are the major factor in the quality of your images. Some of my most meaningful pictures were taken with 'modest equipment'.

    Cheers

Welcome Daniel and what a great start..!! This image is rather unique and tells a story.
As for the equipment, its the lens that counts and the Canon 400mm F5.6L is a superb bit of glass. I only sold mine when I purchased the 100-400mm but wished I had kept the straight 400 lens. It was lighter and great for handheld flight images.
