    Taken at last light. Only shot I got after freezing in a field for 8 hours.

    Canon 1D MK 111 / Canon 500 f4 IS + 1.4 tc / 1/1250th @ f8 ISO 400 /


    handheld / 1 pont center focus / manual exp / spot metered

    David:

    Lovely light, colors, background,wing position and sharpness. Although the bird appears to be angled just a bit away, the head is turned back our way, for a nice look. Great eye contact with nice catchlight.

    I think a bit more room in front would help, but this is a fine image. Glad you came home with something more than frost bitten toes!

    Lovely image David! The wings-down pose is perfect, and the light angle creates some nice subtle shadows. The BG perfectly compliments your subject. The head looks slightly oversharpened on my monitor, but it's still very nice.

    Terrific shot, only because it was pointed out do I now think the head is perhaps a little over-sharpened, I agree just a little more canvas to the right, buts that is a fine image great colours and fine detail - superb lighting
