    Caught this little guy today at a local park. There were lots of coots, wigeons, mallards, and geese, but only two little buffleheads. Converted in DPP. Used L*a*b color space in PS to bring out the irridescent colors in the head.

    50D, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS + 1.4x @ 280mm
    Aperture priority, f/5.6@1/2000, evaluative metering EC -1 2/3 ISO 200 AWB
    AI Servo autofocus using back button, HH, 580EX II FEC 0 E-TTL mode Evaluative

    Kerry good HA and colours in the Head area, looks a little bit oversharpened??? Might try a surface blur on the water to smooth it out a bit.

    Hi Kerry,
    Agree with Lady Jackie...also would have liked to have seen a lower capture angle if possible, and you need to tone down the 255 white zone on the bottom of the duck's breast...looking forward to your next one...:cool: I like it...:)

    Hi Kerry - agree with the above comments - you will recover the whites a little - a lower angle would have put it over the top. keep them coming :)

    As for the bird, you did a great job of capturing its natural beauty. That IS what you were going for, right? You did that much! Thumbs up on that!
