From my morning at Estero a few weeks ago. This Tri-color was all fluffed up against the cool temps. Thankfully it warmed up fast and turned out to be a banner morning.
The sidelight from the front helped to create nice definition in the feathers. I would crop out the reflection right where the beak is. A bit more head turn towards you would have been nice. I like the saturated blue of the water and its soft ripples.
I like the sense of movement towards me that the reflection, ripples, and leg position gives. Makes me think he was walking towards you looking side to side for food. Would've liked the head a bit more turned toward you.
