Mr H - gorgeous colours and wonderful details and sharp - BG compliments the bird nicely.

For mY personal tastes too much negative space behind him - wold rather see more in front than behind.

    :)

    Hi Doctor,
As far as compositional structure and placement of the subject in frame, under the conventional point of view, I would agree with Mr. Peters...however, I know you better than this... Rules are made to be broken from time to time; I venture to say that this is your Picasso Duck seen in the unconventional world...:D...I like the color rendition of the duck, the sharp details, with a good head angle and sharp clear eye...the multi tone background compliments your Picasso Duck very well....actually...I like it...:)

I like the experimentation Harold !!! I'm sure a large print would have a different feel ... but sure is sharp and luscious !!!

Initially, I thought this had too much negative space behind the duck; but the more I look at it, the more I think it looks fine as is. I think it may be because the duck's head is turned slightly, if the duck's head was in complete profile I don't think this would work. Very good example of how breaking the rules can produce very nice results at times!

thanks everyone!! christopher had the EXACT same thoughts as me. because of the slight turn of the head, i think it works too. plus it's different and i like the different stuff.

thanks again!! it is now my desktop. on the 24" screen, it is luscious!!

Great colours and perfect HA Harold. Think I like added canvas on the right. Would make a lovely print with all those gorgeous colours!

    Hi Harold!
I just love your picture - for me it ticks all the boxes. The only suggestion that I would offer is that whenever I want to show something that might be considered OOTB, I try to add a slightly off the wall title. It just seems to enhance the effect!!
    Best,
    Nicki
