    These pigeons are native, unlike the introduced Rock Doves we know and love. ;) Captured at Cachuma Lake visitors center.

    Converted with DPP, then worked in CS4. Cropped, colored, and sharpened.

    50D, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS + 1.4x @ 260mm
    Shutter priority, f/7.1@1/250, evaluative metering EC -1/3 ISO 100
    AI Servo autofocus using back button, HH, 580EX II FEC -2/3 E-TTL mode Evaluative

    Hi Kerry - You have good details in the feathers and a good HA. Good to see you still using the flash and getting to grips with it.
    I would get rid of the larger catchlight at the top of the eye -- Compositionally would like to see more room in front of the bird than behind.
    Looking forward to more :)

    Hi Kerry,
    just a tad more room to the right side of the frame and fix the catch light...I like the fine details and good color rendition...well done Sir...:cool:

    Fully agree with comments !!!

    ....... remember flash wise do three fast exposures .. will teach you the best setting with direct feedback !!!
