    Default Harrier...take two

This was a shot I did some work on and it was taken right after the shot in my previous harrier post. The wing placement is better and so is the head turn but the bird itself was in a bad position in the frame. I selected the harrier and moved it to a place where there was no blurred boardwalk in the background and I did a little eye work. Hope this one works.

Works very well Matt. Great post processing work. Love the banking pose...and the textures/patterns on the wings are in full evidence. A beauty!!

WOrks? I love this!! Beautiful bg with just the right amount of texture and color. Bird's wing position is fabulous and the front of the upper wing looks 3-d, I can see the curve. Love the exposure, the great yellow eye and spot of yellow on his beak. I'm glad you disclosed the amount of PP work you did, it is a totally pleasing and exciting image.

Beautiful detail and the PP on the eye works well.

This looks really great, I like the banking pose, eye contact and BG. I might sharpen the bird a bit more and add canvas top and bottom. I could also see this as a vertical crop.

Thanks for the comments and advice! The only way I sharpen images is to use smart sharpen. My dad sharpens using different colors in 'lab' if that sounds right? Is smart sharpen ok is is there much better ways?

    Hey Matt,
Very dramatic and nice indeed. I think there is a tutorial on sharpening under educational. If I find it....I'll post the link....unless someone beats me to it. Very nicely done!

I know they frown on the "Wow!" comments on BPN, but...Wow.

As we recently discussed, I've been chasing this guy through the park for weeks with little to show for it. But here the banking position is killer, wing detail is wonderful and the eye contact is spot on.
