    These birds are very common here in southern Florida but look so beautiful in the golden light of the sunset.

    Nikon D300
    Nikon 300mm F2.8
    ISO 400
    1/400, F 7.1

    Judy, I agree about the light and really like the diagonal branch and the placement of the bird in the frame.

    Perch, exposure control and details look good. I wish for a bit more head turn and find the bright spot near the beak a bit distracting.

    Good use of DOF. Nice pose and light. I agree with Axel re the bright area in the BG.

    VERY nice! I love the BG but would try to tone down the light areas a bit, the pose, DOF and comp are very nice IMO. COngratulations!

    To me this species is more of a harbinger of spring than the traditional robin...and up here we are expecting the first sightings of the season any day now. Can't wait!!

    I agree with the bright patch in the BG, but otherwise like it very much :-)

    Great detail in the blacks here Judy and a nice perch, you could try a little highlight adjustment for the brighter spots but they don't bother me.

    Hi Judy,
    If you tone down the brighter spots a bit.....it will almost be a glow around the RWBB. Love the angle and perch. Nicely done!
