    sugggestion to improve..strong backlight should i have opened a stop and or fill flash?thanks

    Stuart:

    Nice bird, great wing spread, head angle, sharp.

    Fill flash would have helped a lot, and you were close enough it would have been effective. THe bird needs more room to our right to flare into, and a bit more room at top so the wing tip is further from the edge.

    Great pose, I'm surprised you can see the skin on the near wing. Yes to fill flash and I would give it more room on the right to fly into.

    Good timing and nice action captured in this one Stuart. I agree that more canvas to the right would strengthen this image.

    Hi Stuart - agree with all of the above - more room in front for him to fly into would improve... Fill flash would have helped - like the pose and the details.
