    Default Tricolored Blackbird

It was a treat to get a clean shot of this bird. The dash of color in the otherwise black bird is a treat, and I mostly see the red-winged variety. Cropped from the middle of the capture, selective sharpening on the bird and de-saturated the bg.

Hi Kerry - flash has certainly helped with the details in the blacks - Like the BG.

The far foot looks a little funky (Overflashed?) I would crop a little from the bottom and a bit from the RHS - just so you don't have him entred in a square shot.

    Keep them coming :)

    Hi Kerry,
The capture angle is a wee bit on the steep side. agree with Mr. Peters on the techs. also need to fix the eye, it doesn't look natural, the catch light looks strange...looking forward to the next one...

Fully agree with suggestions and you did come up with a good one !! All you can do now is capture one with the raised epaulets singing !!!

Good try Kerry, all the techs have been mentioned. I have never seen this bird. Just have the RW's up here.

Good Shot. I agree with Gus and Lance on their comments. Perhaps it's an optical illusion, but to me the bird's right foot looks huge.

Gosh, I spent so much time looking at the body I did not notice that mutated foot! No digital hanky-panky here, that's just the way it looked. There is a nuclear power plant up the coast in San Luis Obispo... :D

I didn't notice the size difference until it was pointed out :) I did notice that the foot looked metallic looking ... maybe it's investing in armoured footwear?

Here is a detail from another image of the same bird. There is definitely something funky going on with that foot. I captured a freak! It looks like "Frankenbird" with a foot from a raptor...
