This place is in Gran Canaria, a basaltic column in the center of the island. Not sure about colours and composition in this one. C&C welcomed...

    Jose,

I like the composition of the mountains but I am not to keen on the frame created by the trees.

The mountains have good atmospheric layering and I like the framing of the lower/closer peak with the taller/BG peak.

This has a very effective "theatrical set" quality--foreground, middle ground, and background nicely defined, with each introducing the next. Colors are very evocative, hot and humid and tropical.

Good composition and light--my only suggestion might be to crop the OOF lower foreground--not sure you need it, or need all of it: it is not needed to frame the subject, and is out of character with the finer needles of the trees on either side. But that's a minor suggestion.

    Nice picture!

I'm undecided on the framing. Maybe if you went to full silhouette on them, they wouldn't catch my eye as much. I do like the general comp and atmosphere though. You are lucky to live there.

    Hi Jose,
I too am not fond of the framing element.....although Paul's idea is intriguing and IMO worth exploring. I hope you explored other views!

I think the framing detracts from a beautiful image. Consider a composition similar to this rough crop.

I am not a landscape person from a photography perspective, but I do like the original idea for its three dimensional feel. I feel more (in focus) foliage would look nicer and could perhaps become a stronger composition. :)
