    Excellent timing on this one. Lovely pose and you handled the harsh sidelighting quite well. A little bit of fillflash would have helped here IMO. The perch could be a bit nicer, but nothing much you could have done about that. Nice!

    I am actually about to get a 580EX II for my 40D/5DII, what will be the range with a good beamer? These guys were about 170-200 ft. away, will the flash be helpful for these situation?

    If you'd buy a BetterBeamer to bundle your flashbeam, you're able to extend your flashrange by two stops. Are you sure this was 200ft away? As I'm really surprised that you got them this big in frame from that distance (or is this a large crop)?

    Interaction lovely. HArsh side light working against you. Nice BG, I'd prefer sun angle to flash.

    It's a crop from the original, size is ~1500 pixels so it's less than 1/4 of the original frame
