    Is this super house finch? It was my understanding that birds had to flap their wings to stay in the air. Apparently, this guy has mastered the art of floating. His friend seems impressed. And no, I did not cloan a branch out of this image. Canon 40D, 1/4000 sec. f/4.0 500 MM lens on a Gitzo tripod with Wimberly head.

    Good job on freezing the action here David. I love the poses, expressions and setting. I would run a little NR on the BG, especially the upper portion. I would also recommend that you shake of the snow from those trees/bushes in the BG as the white spots tend to distract from your subject. Well done.

    Interresting levitating pose you got on this guy. I'm not crazy about the white spots in the BG, nor the feeder(s) in the frame. Are you able to align youself differently for a better BG, such as in front of some full greenery?

    Levitating finch - cool.

    Do post your image at full size - you can go to 200KB - this one is only 62KB will look better bigger.
