    Default Great Blue Heron on the Beach

    captured on bunche beach last weekend. i thought the image came out real well as far as compo and sharpness, but something just doesnt seem right about it to me. any thoughts?

    D300, Bigma at 270mm, f/6.3, 1/3200s, 0EV, ISO 400.

    Details and head angle look good. Maybe a bit more room top, right and bottom? What doesn't look right to you?

    Harold, perhaps darkening the mid tones and saturating the reds on the heron would "punch" it up a bit. I also find the brown band across the top of the frame distracting. A Great-blue Heron photographed in a beach setting is hardly boring in my eyes!! :-)

    Hey MR H - agree with Daniel the brown band at the top has to go :) -- Everything else looks good -- the boring comment indicates to me MR H that you have upped your ante a bit and expect more from yourself :)
