    This is the male Mistletoe Bird bringing the soft contents of the mistletoe berry to its young. The nest resembles a baby's bootie.

    Canon EOS 3, Canon 100-300 F5.6L, 1/125 sec F11, natural light with fill flash, Kodachrome 64. Hide. Tripod.

    What I really like in your bird pictures is that you always show your subject doing something. I can imagine the enormous work to do before being able to get a picture like this.

    A wonderful image that tells a story.......very interesting. I love the colors, composition, details and the nice view of the nest. I might tone down the really bright areas on the left of the nest so as not to distract from the real action of the parent. Well done.....this one is great.

    Agree with the above comments, a tribute to you patience John. I like the detail in all colours. A bird I haven't seen for over 20 years.

    Thanks for sharing this image. I haven't seen an image of this species before. The reds look a bit overexposed on my monitor.

    Very nice. Good behavior and nice colors. If you have it, I might add some back to the bottom to raise the subject a little higher in the frame.
