Default Ludwig's Bustard - last light

I captured this image of a Ludwig's Bustard in my favourite photo destination, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. I was lucky to get him taking off, I missed its mate taking off, but it gave me the opportunity to focus on this one and I was ready when it followed a moment later.

Saturday I'm leaving for a week-long safari to the Kgalagadi, my first one for this year. Not a moment too soon:D

On the day that you're crowned the 'King' you share another super image with us Chris. The light and wing position really make this image. Like the habitat too.

Great light, wing position, details and setting. I didn't even know this species existed. :)
