    A Bar-tailed Godwit in non-breeding plumage.
    (We don't get to see godwits in breeding plumage here in Australia. They come here for our summer but breed in Siberia etc.)

    Canon 40D, 400/f5.6L, 1/800s, f5.6, ISO 800, Ev +2/3, handheld with bushHawk while lying flat
    cropped for composition following a small rotation
    minor levels and curves adjustments

    Nice low angle and pose on this individual. With the one foot hidden by the sand it's a nice bonus to have the other one up and in full view. I'm finding the bright area above the back unfortunate...a bit of patching/cloning work should work well to get rid of it, or perhaps you have some nice frames taken after the bird moved furthe right? While you're at it you could also add some room above as I find the head a bit cramped up there. Overall well done :-)

    Nice shot Leo. Nice details and colour on the Godwit. Just feels a bit tight to me.
