Thanks so much for all the advice - I really appreciate it.
Unfortunately despite 20 odd photos in the 3min it took to conquer the snake, these 2 are the best HA's I could get:o I am still going to enter, I think, just for the experience - hopefully I'll get a comment!:)
Next q for the togs please - do I crop or not?

    I like both Jeni,
Each in it's own class...if I had to pick one, it would be the second one...but thats personal taste, and the type of message that you want to convey...great action capture...

I'll go against the flow here and say I like the first one best, they are both great images and I love that snake getting chomped :)

i like the first for two reasons. it shows some really nice detail in the bird and you cant tell as much that the head angle is slightly off. the head angle really shows in the second one for me. best of luck to you in the contest. i'm pulling for you!!

To me the 2nd image has more impact with the head and snake.
However the first is a more balanced all round image and is the one I prefer.
In fact would prefer a slightly lesser crop with more room front, back and under feet.

Jeni another vote for the first. Even maybe a bit tight. Might want to show more habitat if you have it.
    Good Luck!
