Cool image Jeff.....cool image, great colors, clarity rocks. Paul, you didn't do so bad either my friend. That storm would have scared me to death, and then to run toward it to get in your jeep.

Steve, your image made me quiet, a very hard thing to do, ask James. The solitude, peacefulness, the inner self searching the image evokes. The mono lake image should be in a museum. Seriously. It is very good. Print that one out and hang it in your study room. You can't help but relax looking at it.

What a surprise! I didn't know it for a few days until a friend told me. My sincere thanks to all the moderators and members here for this honor. My congrats to Steve and Kaushik.

I joined this forum last year to learn more about wildlife and bird photography. Boy, was I humbled by the talent here and the amount of stuff I needed to learn. Last May I went to Africa on my first photo safari and it was successful because of all the great advice I got here. Obviously, I've primarily been a landscape and nature photographer. In fact, I moderate the landscape forum at FredMiranda.com. I'm still practicing on birds, but have little opportunity to be near good locations for that. I'm working on it when I can, and because of you here, I've spent a ton of dough on big lenses and other equipment! I am going to shoot grizzlies, black bears, and eagles in northern British Columbia in May.

If you want to see my work it's on my My Photo Site,.

    Thanks so much.
