Was at my Mom's today and she had a couple of Nuthatch's doing their upside down thing on a Oak tree , must say it was kinda hard to get a decent capture . This is i presume a Male judging by his darker color.

Hi Glenn,
I like the capture and image...I like the up side down pose on this little guy. The color rendition is good and you have sharp details...a few points to consider...I recommend on toning down the white hot spots on the head, also lighten the eye a tad and selective sharpen...it looks flat...and finally, need to add more canvas on top to get the branch out of the intersecting top right hand corner...looking forward to your next capture...good show...
Nice pose on that bird, I wish it looked at the camera...
Sometimes if you make a slight noise (including the famous
birdwatchers' "pishsh") helps to take bird's attention and look at you...
Glenn - nice capture, all nuthatches seem to be difficult to get a image of to me, even though we see them sooooo often. Agree with the above suggestions.
Cheers
Gail
hi glenn, i like your nuthatch here. when i first opened it i saw a strong blue color cast. i set the black and white points and that fixed the bird right up. i then selected the sky bg and changed it to a more natural looking blue. hope you dont mind me working on it.
All points noted Gus , ILIJA i will try pishshing next time. Thanks Alfred and Gail its appreciated. Harold i really like what you did but can you explain what you mean by b&w points.
Thanks again i can see why this forum is one of a kind :)
Denise i dont remember were i picked up the Hiker's Creed but it seem fitting if you love nature :) Harold im using CS3 maybe im in a photoshop dumb mood today but i cant find it lol :)
