Captured at Ft. DeSota Beach, FL, Jan '08, later morning. I felt lucky to capture one of these guys solo - not merging with other skimmers as they often do.

    Nikon D-200, 70-200 2.8, w/TC. ISO 125, 1/800 @ F/5.0

Hi Ariene I like the pose very much also having just the one bird !!!! Would crop the white strip up top Good exposure to keep the whites in check Might go and work around the eye for more detail It is just about always necessary with these birds !!! Excellent !!!

I like the action you captured here Arlene and the exposure is right on. Also the catchlight in the skimmers eye is a real bonus. fine work !!

I'd be happy Arlene to have captured this image. Perhaps I'll get to photograph these interesting birds someday.

I like the little splash caused by the movement of the rear foot.

Hi, Arlene. Nice capture here. The composition is strong, with various angles (wings, legs, mandible) providing a great deal of interest.

Beautiful, Arlene. The backsplash and the blurred wings really complement the face and beak.
