Just to report I'm getting close to my challenge of shoting a feeding in flight by this bird. As I said, they stay in this position for 1-2 seconds and you never know wich flower will they chose to feed from. So you have to have the intuition of wich one is the one :-) . My goal is to get it with a good background and freezed open wings, so I will keep trying.
This one taken yesterday, nikkor 80-400 VR handheld. My mistakes: unfocused bird (I think I focused on the flowers, but it's a veeery fast action) and caotic background. Comments very welcomed
Hi Jose - progressing well by the looks of it - I am sure you will get your shot. You are doing well with the 80-400 I always found it a little slow in the AF area, so kudo's for stayin with it.
Agree with your self assesment, parts of your bird are merging with bg elements here, the legs with the vertical OOF bg element (branch), just remember the harder you work - the luckier you get.
