I photographed these owls yesterday near my home. They didn't seem to care I was there. Used my Sony alpha 100
shot at f/5.6, 1/250,o ev, Iso 400, 200mm. Thanks for looking,
    John

Hi John - great find --certainly had their eye's on you - Like the pose and good details and the golden afternoon light.
Your whites are pusing 255 in quite a few spots (A multiply layer will help) - looks like the sun was left, your subjects are partly in shadow whcih was going to make it hard - a bit of fill flash might have helped.

    Keep them coming :)

    Hi John

Agree with suggestions Would also try making two exposures and combining for dof, not sure you could stop down enough for both !!!! They normally stay still so there would be a chance !!! Do like it as presented !!!

John, Agree with above techs and Alfred makes a great point-I know these Burrowing Owls are quite small and one feels they can get two in one shot w/ great detail-but I know first hand how hard it is, if they are not very close and on the same plane it is tough-You did well with this and look forward to more, they are so cute and worth the capture!
