Default Juvi loon speaking his mind

This two month old common loon was really having fun. Imaged on a Northern Mich lake last summer.

Taken off the deck of a pontoon boat.

    D300 80-400 f/7.1 ISO 800 1/2000s 15% crop for composition.

The water isn't as colorful as I would like, but the loons exuberance makes it for me

    Comments certainly appreciated!

I like the action. Could use a bit more room above the bird and the middle-tones could use some black. My favorite part of the image are the water droplets.

Great moment captured, I also like the angle and eye contact. I would tone down the highlights more.

    Thanks for the responses.

Axel, the breast is on the ragged edge, about 252 in some spots. I did do some highlight protection to try to tone it down a bit.

I do have more frame available above the bird, so can recrop it.

    Thanks

That Loon looks like he's having a good time. I'd try and tone down the hot highlights on the chest a bit.
