    it is a male green hermit : long decurved bill with glossy green/blue tinged plumage, the female has a longer central tail feathers and a whiter belly

    As for photo - nice colors and exposure with good sharpness on the head/eyes.. Would have been better if the bird was facing the camera

    It would help if you post technical details (ISO, shutter speed, exposure, ...) - did you use a flash?

    Fully agree with Peter in all respects !!!

    Perfect camera for the hummers With the clean ISO you can really crank it up with excellent results What was the ISO?

    As stated....a beautiful hummer. I, too wish for a different angle. The focal point seems to be on the wing and without enough DOF, the bill is slightly OOF.

    I'm going to go against the flow and say that I like the angle as is. The reason is that is shows the splayed tail whereas a more frontal angle wouldn't show it so well.
