    Default Sunning seals

From a recent trip to Montauk point, taken on the South side of the point as afternoon began to give way to evening. It was a comical scene as the three on the left had been on the rock for a while and were totally dry and mellow when the newcomer approached and simply could not settle.

    Grace,

Like the one with its head up and interesting expression and the one peeking over the others. THe OOF wave LR is distracting. Crop into a pano will accentuate the seals, the center of interest of the image.

Thanks, Robert. I tend to get wrapped up in the "scene" and often include too my extraneous stuff in my images. Appreciate your input.

I like the look on the poser's face. I also like the rock and the wave crashing into it on the left. I like environmental elements in my pics too but think a pano crop to eliminate the whitecap on the LRC would work well here because of the linear shapes of the rock and the seals along with the curve of the water in the middle of the rock. You'd still have some ripples from the waves and the rock has enough interest to keep the habitat feel.

Grace, love the deals and the expression on the one to the right. About the crop, undecided. I'm not a big fan of pano for environmental. Another option, is you are good at PS is keeping the ratio and replacing the wave with ocean. I have the feeling it would look more balanced.

I am fine with the pano crop and the wave. Had the bird, I mean the seal, on the left been looking at the camera it would have made the image 100X more effective and would have better balanced the wave lower right.

All blue water in the FG would be better - good suggestion.
