    Default Red-Winged Blackbird

The RWBBs have started showing up and displaying for their territory. BG is sunlit grass across the lake. 40D, 400DO + 1.4xTC, f6.3, 1/250s, ISO 400, tripod mount.

This fella pops nicely against a perfect BG! A slight head turn would have been nice, but we get what we get sometimes. The only thing I would do is clone over the bright part of the stick that appears broken off.

Good exposure control, details and BG. I also wish for more head turn and maybe the typical calling pose.

Great BG that offsets the bird well, diagonal perch and good directional light that shows the black feather detail making for a pleasing image.

Beautiful Steve. I agree with the above comments and love how the bird just jumps out at you. Nicely done and congratulations.
