    This is an image from St. Paul Island last summer. I was fortunate that this Murre was right on the edge of the cliff with his head just peaking above the grass. This is nearly full frame (only cropped a small amount on the top and side) and a blurred blade of grass cloned out.

    Canon 1DMkIIN, 500mmL IS, tripod
    ISO 400, f/13, ss 1/250, flash
    Capture One RAW conversion, slight crop, levels, USM

    I really love the opened bill adding a touch of color. Great control of the exposure too. I also like the two displaced feathers at the back of the neck.

    Really great shot, and a tough exposure that you just nailed. I too like the two displaced feathers in an otherwise sleek bird.

    This is outstanding Lana !! Love the crop and beautifully exposed with excellent detail. and the open beak puts it over the top. congratulations on an awesome image.
