Has anyone on this site used the c-201 companion multipurpose ball head attachment from 4th
generation designs (makers of the mongoose products)? It seems to be similar to the wimberly
sidekick in that it attaches to a ballhead and functions as gimbal head,but it also functions
as a macro positioner for close up work.It would seem to be a valuable tool if it works.
I am surprised that I have never seen it mentioned here. Any information will be greatly
appreciated. I am trying to decide on a gimbal head for my canon 400 f5.6 and I was surprised
to see this product on the 4th generation website.
That's a new one on me too. Having never used it, I would not comment on its suitability though it looks like it would work similarily to the sidekick. All depends on how well 4thGD has got it balanced out and or course the smoothness of the ballhead panning.
Contact 4thGD and see it you can get a loaner. Artie also sells there products so may be able to assist, contact him as well.
