    Default Harlequin Duck

I guess I'm in portrait mode. I went back to Barnegat Light this morning and got really lucky. There was a thin layer of clouds which helped a lot with the exposure of the whites. You can even see some texture.

    Axel:

A stunning duck, with lovely background, nice look back. Nice catch light in the eye. I wonder if the eye could be brightened just a bit to make the pupil more visible I don't know this duck well enough to know if that would look abnormal.

I love the cinnamon colored streaks.

You are on a roll Axel!

Just lovely. Whites and blacks are both great. BG is very beautiful too with the gradations of blue.

Excellent details and perfect exposure on a very difficult subject. Nice crop too.

I would love to stumble across one of these someday and if I do I hope I capture it half as well as this. Crop, pose, detail and exposure are spot on.

Thanks, Randy! I tried lightening the eye but it didn't look right.

The best of this species I have ever seen, Axel. Wonderful composition--the lighting is superb.--details as good as they get. Congratulations!
