    Hi All
At Gus' suggestion I have opened up the mid-tones on this image. Original was posted on 02-26. To open the mid-tomes and to bring out more detail, I used LR-2 and increased the clarity to increase apparent contrast in the mid-tones and used the Tone Curve adjustment to increase the mid-tones.
I continue to be quite the novice at image editing, so I am most interested in your comments. I tried to watch the histogram while doing the adjustments. If I have this right, there are several ways to open the mid-tones using Tone Curves, Levels, or .... Is this right? How would you choose which to do?

I decided to post this as a new thread. The original post is a ways down the list as we are a very active group. Probably have to view the two mages in tabs.
    Cheers

Gail, Another vote for somewhere in-between. This is lovely and I like the composition very much. Fabs did an HDR then tone-mapped it in photomatrix she posted it in OOTB that would make this image sing. http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=26459

Thanks Lance and Denise. It is interesting how quickly an image can be edited into a less effective image. Denise, thanks for the reference. Neat idea.
