This was the first time I had actually ever seen a grebe in flight and I was fortunate to get about eight images as it flew across the water. Definitely a fun experience.

Cool to capture one in flight. It looks a bit soft and noisy on my monitor. Maybe a little less contrast?

    Hi Judy,
Nice job on the flight action but agree with Axel on the contrast and noise (surprised at ISO 400). Maybe a reverse s-surve and some NR on the BG would be the finishing touches. That was one tough capture!

How funny pose. I like it. The wing looks noisy on my screen (maybe due to the shadows adjustment?)

Hi Judy, I was about to comment what you said, the first time I see a grebe in flight, very nice wing position and great overall pose, good lighting and comp although some more NR could help. COngratualitons!

Good for you! I don't think I have seen one fly much either--let alone get the capture!
