    All that was visible of this Saw-whet was his face, he was looking out from tree...to many branches...so I took a close up of his face and cropped it to usable area..

    Paul:

    Very nice. I love the plane of focus, includes the important bits, eyes and beak, and then blends gracefully.

    If possible, I might try to lighten the center of the birds face a bit, without blowing the left side out completely.

    Very intense stare. I would be scared if he wasn't so tiny!

    Cool capture Paul and I think you did very well in what sounds like a very challenging situation. Love the eyes in this one. Many thanks for sharing.

    I like the stare and tight crop and wish for a bit more eye contact. Some of the whites on the left side look a bit overexposed.
