I don't know you but I'm totally going to be the guy to call you out on this - your garage must be a pretty big mess if you're photoshopping it out of the picture hahaha. Ya know what? Who cares - you gotta a pretty rad floating blind now so rock and roll my friend!!! Woohoo!!!
Philip you hit it right on the nose though it's the other side of my garage that is a disaster area. I PS'd the neat and clean side out of the image!
Alfred this one does have an electric motor. I will be careful as I have had a few years of experience shooting waterfowl out of floating blinds. Attached is a picture of an old blind from a ways back. It's being modeled by my wife. She does a great job as an indispensable part of the crew.
Gus you correct in that you can get really, really close to wildlife, waterfowl and birds using a floating blind. I have literally bumped up against sunning turtles before. It's a lot of fun.
I'm looking forward to getting this out on the water so I can cut in the camera ports. You have to wait and see how the boat settles into the water before you can do that otherwise they usually end up at the wrong height.
Dave, The boat is a "Pelican Bass Raider 8". I searched for a couple of months to try and find a boat that was very stable and yet could be light enough for me to carry and car top. Of all of the similar boats being offered this one had the most freeboard and it was wider than some of the other models too. There are a number of companies out there that offer similar boats I just felt this one met my needs the best. From the looks of where you are located a boat like this would be well suited for the smaller lakes and backwaters of your region.
Good luck and God bless,
