    Default A few facts......

So today I went again to the sea shore. And again I was lucky enough to find egrets. After half an hour, I´ve comed to some conclusions.
    a) I have to find low angles, wich means to be wet :-(
    b) I have to be closer to my subjects or upgrade my gear (hahaha)
Really, I'm a little bit dissapointed (and that challenges me), because even having the opportunities, I'm not getting the pics I would like. Iit's going to be hard (and that challenges me), to get the pics I want.....Don´t missunderstand me. I´m not saying the 100 pics I took to this egret were that bad, it´s just that I need better backgrounds, and closer subjects. I guess everybody feels the same way...

Hi Jose - don't feel bad - you have the biggest one on your side - OPPORTUNITIES - only one way to learn and that is through having the opportunities and making the mistakes and through practise your skills will grow... Equipment does not make the photographer!! Knowing how to use it and having a creative vision - certainly does.

Yep you are going to have to get wet --- Its only water -- here's a couple of tips.

    1. Do not use your hands for anything other than operating the camera - dont want sand or salt water on the equipment now do we.

    2. Which means you are going to be crawling around and your belly and elbows in the sand.

    3. you will be amazed how close you can get when Egrets are feeding - their busy with more imprtant things you know - Here is my mantra "Stay Low - Move Slow" its easy to get excited So I recite this to myself in my head.

    4. The harder you work - the luckier you get.

    Keep them coming.

    Jose,
I like this capture...the background is not bad, it shows habitat. and I like the action going on. I would just tone down the whites on your bird...Mr. Peters gave you very good advise...put it into practice and practice, and practice with allot of patience...it will pay off...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Jose I feel you made the best possible image from your position !!! We normally lay down in mud but not in water !!!!

You are making good exposures and nailing the action I'm sure getting closer will be easier in time, birds do get used to your presence and you can tell when to move closer !!! .... also don't neglect going real wide and making an environmental image I find them challenging !!!

btw I'm envious you are able to use an "acento" on the e !!! :)
