Hi Gus - I cannot beleive how close you can get to your birds there - they must be incredibly tame, Mine at the moment are incredibly skittish, cannot get anywere near them. They spook when you get anycloser than 100m even fron across the river.

I am wondering if it is because of the fires we had - I am sure it must have had some effect on them - intresting.

Opps - sorry - anyway - Like the pose and the eye and detail is spot on.

    Mr. Peters,
Don't feel bad about spooked birds flying away at 300 feet away. This has happened to me too. Three weeks ago on my way to Shark Valley, I stopped along side the road to photograph a few that were perched in the trees and some in the canal below; as soon as I got off the truck, they spooked and flew away...this happened twice before getting to my destination...so yes, its common...:D:cool:

Like the framing and pose on this one. The black BG shows off the heron very nicely.
