Here's another flight shot from Cachuma Lake. Cropped off the left side and added a more interesting sky, this one rendered by PS. Did the usual NN on bg and selective sharpening and color/tone on the hawk. This was the day I learned to NOT use spot metering! I've learned a lot since that trip...

    50D, EF70-200mm f/2.8L IS + 1.4x @ 280mm
Aperture priority, f/7.1@1/1000, spot metering on bird (an experiment!) EC 0 ISO 200
AI Servo autofocus, HH no flash

Well done Kerry ~ no nits. Like your cloud rendering in PS . . . .

How's the water level in the lake? Haven't been there since `90 when the lake was down over 50'

    Nicely done Kerry,
I like the placement of the bird in frame...I like the wing position and capture angle, showing sharp details and a sharp eye...The cloud formation is very nice...good show...

Nice action captured Kerry. Have you seen the cloud brushes from You-Send-It. They are loads of fun too.
