    This Ibis really seemed to check out all the barnacles as it searched for food. Very harsh contrasty light. This is an older slide scan, so no detailed exposure information. C and C welcome, I'm here to learn. Thanks for looking. - John

    John, Nice position of the subject in the image. For my taste I would crop a bit off the top. As you stated the light is rather harsh and white subjects do not show up well in this light. My suggestion is to pick the time of day(early or late in the day) to shoot these subjects. An old saying I live by is "light is everything in photography"

    I like the pose and eye contact, the whites look partially overexposed and I would clone out the brownish area behind the bird's head.

    I agree with Axel. I also find the rocks in the BG a little distracting!

    Agree with all of the above. Very lovely pose and I like the environment that is shown in this composition. Thanks for sharing.
