Default Review of Laptop Displays by Rob Galbraith

Kind of interesting review comparing the displays of four different laptops.

If anyone is aware of similar comparisons of laptop displays please post a link.

    Thanks, JR

Thanks for the link, John! I have no idea why anyone wouldn't want a glossy screen for photography since the colors look much more realistic, at least on all screens I have.

My 17 inch Mac did not come with the glossy so it had to be special order. Does make all the difference but is interesting many people do like to stay away from them?

I got almost universal advice to stay away from the glossy...I went with glossy on your suggestion and have been really happy with it.

Interesting feedback re glossy vs matte: 3:1

How do you guys deal with reflections? Do you use the laptop largely in a controlled environment, e.g. darkened office? Or do you also take it on the road? Do you still like it in such conditions?

    Thanks, JR

I use it mainly inside and just make sure there is no lamp or window behind me, more or less a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.
