Marine Iguanas may be big and ugly, but I thought the little Lava Lizard made a nice contrast. Taken late afternoon, Jan. 30, 2009 on Isabela Island, Galapagos, Ecuador.

    Hi Dick,
I like the inter action capture...you had very harsh light coming from the side...it appears to be a tad over sharpened...I like the capture...looking forward to the next one...

With all the texture I agree on backing down the USM !!! Might cut some more of the tail so it doesn't look clipped !!! Big Congrats !!!

Thanks for the comments. Yes the light was harsh -- you should see the original! When you are on the equator, the sky is clear, the sun is low on a beach of white shell fragments, and your subject is crusted with salt, it all adds up, but I guess that is what I have to learn to deal with. As to the tail, there is more available and I tried one with less showing, so maybe middle-ground is not the best compromise.
    Regards,
    Dick
