I was really taken by the Swallow-tailed Gulls which are endemic to the Galapagos - yes, there are a few in a colony off the Colombia coast. This one was on an early morning cruise and vocalized continually at anything in the way. Taken 1/28/09 on Genovesa, 8:30am, clear sky.

The calling pose, wing position and fanned tail are great. Too bad the bird was not flying towards you. I look forward to seeing more images from your trip.

Did great with the exposure Dick !!! btw in those situations don't think I would have trusted any auto mode !!

Love the calling pose and overall feel I know the bird is going away but in this particular image I feel it doesn't detract The bird is intently looking at something which makes it interesting !!!! Big Congrats !!!

A very striking shot Dick, the wide open calling pose and bg make this special.

Wow the action is awesome in this image. I agree with Axel but your exposure was spot on and very lovely detail. I am looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing Dick.
