I like the soft light and head turn. A lower angle would have been even better, if possible. I might blur the BG a bit more.

I fixed the link for you, you can just click the 'insert image' button and link to the jpg file. This way the forum software can create a thumbnail.

Thanks Axel. I think I forgot in a hurry to link the photo.

Agree with Axel and might suggest taking just a little of the top !!! Very pleasing image and always a treat capturing one in the open !!!

Very few moments to catch these guys out in the open or in a pleasingly clean environment. They are always in a very habitat look. I personally would like to see more of a levels leaning to-wards a darker black to give it more contrast and a deeper richer color. It seems a bit washed out. But still a nice image.

Yes it was quite difficult to get a clear picture, since there were lot of bushes and weeds coming in between.

Thanks for the comments, will try to increase the contrast and cropping the top a bit.

Lucky to get a clear BG image. Like the position and HA a lot. I might have applied a bit of CW rotation (bird looks like it's about to fall forward)
I also don't think it is a moorhen - - think it's a purple gallinule. Moorhens are usually mostly black
    Nice effort

It looks similar to your purple gallinule. However, this species is from India and is known as Puple Moore hen or Purple Swamp Hen. The scientific name is porphyrio porphyrio.

I agree that a slight boost of contrast will be of help as well as cropping a little bit from the top.

    Cheers,
