Jasper took me to "the best roedeer spot of the Netherlands" ;) and we had a great day. We began the day with some deerscapes as the surroundings there were great and later on wanted to try for some portraits of deer in the heith. Unfortunately the animals were very skittish at first. By trying different skulking techniques we finally ended up with some nearly frame filling portraits of these lovely animals and some very sore backs ;) :D

Thanks for taking me there buddy!

Sharp, nice COMP and BKGR. EXP perfect. Is there anything specific going on with the tongue?

    Thanks for the comment Artie.

I think it was likking its mouth after eating some of the likens and mosses that were groing in between the heathbushes. Or it was just sticking out his tongue towards me of course :D

    Cheers,

    Krij,

I would have to agree with the others. Your hard work and sore back paid off.

I like the sharpness, colours and details in this image. Your stalking skills have paid off. The 1.4 and 2x TCs work well with the long teles.

    Hey Krijn!

Nice! Technically excellent! However, I'm not really into the weird poses...I looked at my images and prefer the ones with the mouth closed. The tongue could have 2 reasons, one could be your chewing hypothesis, but it could also be their sensing behaviour as they use their tongue to smell us.

I had a great day buddy...my back musclesmake me feel like I'm 92, but our persistence paid off and made this possible. Congrats on this beauty.
