It seemed (probably just coincidentally) that the juveniles were the last to return to the evening shoreline roost. Remided me of the old neighborhood when we wanted to play all night and dreaded our mother's call to evening dinner. Created at sunset on Lover's Key. 1DMKIIN 400DO ISO 640 F5.6@1/640
The bird is sharp and I like the light. The horizon line makes me wish for some CW rotation. I'd like to see a stronger wing position also. Thanks for posting!
Thanks Doug! That's not the horizon, it's the shoreline at an angle (I was in the water waist deep facing down the shoreline as I was panning for this image) and the shot is level. The birds were gliding into the wind coming in for a landing (reason tail is down).
David I agree with Doug about the rotation. In an image like this one, the observer will tend to consider that the line between the water and the sand is the horizon (instead of the fact that is the shoreline at an angle).
Thanks, as always for the comments!! Yes, Axel, this had the best separation in the 3 image series. I also wish for more as I love the OOF companions in this image. I straightened the shoreline for comparison. Now the water looks out of kilter, IMHO. I redeveloped from raw, so the settings may be slightly different.
